UNO enrollment efforts and student recruiting activities not only remain in the New Orleans Metro area, but also throughout the State of Louisiana, out-of-state, and international. Thus, the UNO web site must not only reflect the true UNO, but must also compete directly against university web sites across the country.

The web site will be an ongoing evolution utilizing the best tools proven to bring results.  The web site will continue to provide a front page portal for our many constituents, but will be primarily focused on external audiences.  With that said web content administrators at UNO are responsible for the content of the pages they publish and are expected to follow the highest standards of quality and usability. When developing pages and constructing information architecture, please incorporating the follow recommendations.

Web Development Recommendations:

1. Identity: University branding allows visitors to identify the websites/page affiliation to UNO.
2. Usability: Websites must consider end-user experience for the widest audience. Navigation though the websites and pages must be streamlined and intuitive. Images and documents must be easily identifiable and quick to load.
3. Consistency: Consistency simplifies navigation. Marcom is committed to maintaining the highest level of consistency across the websites and pages.
4. Accuracy: All information in the website must be primary and recent.
