UNO’s Graduates Encouraged to Complete The Outcomes Survey

The Outcomes SurveyThe Outcomes Survey is going out on Dec. 1 to all UNO students—graduate and undergraduate—who are on track to graduate in December.

University of New Orleans students get a lot of surveys. But there’s one coming to email inboxes Tuesday, Dec. 1, that could have a tremendous impact on students and the university as a whole.

The Outcomes Survey is going out to all UNO students—graduate and undergraduate—who are on track to graduate in December. This five-minute online questionnaire asks about graduates’ employment status, salary, career field and more. It will also be sent to the same graduates for updates at three additional intervals: three months after graduation, six months after graduation and a year after graduation.

Celyn Boykin, director of career services at UNO, said the data collected will provide essential information that could not only benefit the University from an academic advising and recruiting standpoint, but it will enable the University to assist graduates who may find themselves unemployed.

“We’re not just pulling data from them,” Boykin said. “We’re going to use it to really help them.”

The Outcomes Survey is administered by GRADLEADERS, formerly CSO Research, Inc., the same organization that manages UNO’s career services database, which is a resource to help students find internships, employment and other opportunities at every stage of their college career.

“A lot of students don’t realize that after they graduate, they can still come here for help,” Boykin said.

Boykin said she hopes that, in time, students will regard The Outcomes Survey as much a part of the graduation process as getting a cap, gown and diploma. It will be administered to each graduating class every semester going forward.

Those who participate in the survey process will be entered in drawings for iPads and gift cards.

To access the survey without going through your email, go to https://survey.theoutcomessurvey.com/outcomes/survey/requestlink. Then, provide your first and last name, UNO email address and select UNO as your university and your graduating class will populate. This will take you directly to The Outcomes Survey (TOS).
