UNO Public Administration Faculty Honored by Professional Organization

Two faculty members from the University of New Orleans Master of Public Administration program were honored by the greater New Orleans chapter of the American Society for Public Administration at a year-end gala on Friday, May 22 at Hoshun Restaurant. Research professor Robert Montjoy received the chapter’s Academic of the Year award and long-time adjunct faculty member Kurt Garcia was awarded the chapter’s Practitioner of the Year award for outstanding service to the community.

The annual end-of-year gala was hosted jointly by the Greater New Orleans chapter of the American Society of Public Administration and two campus groups, UNO’s Public Administration Student and Alumni Association and Political Science Graduate Student Association.

The American Society for Public Administration is the largest and most prominent international professional association for public administration. It is dedicated to advancing the art, science, teaching and practice of public and non-profit administration. The association’s four core values are accountability and performance, professionalism, ethics, and social equity.
