Fourteen UNO Students Inducted Into National Leadership Honor Society

ODK Induction Fall 2015Fourteen University of New Orleans students were recently inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society at UNO for more than four decades.

During a Nov. 30 ceremony on campus at the University Center’s Innsbruck Room, three graduates and 11 undergraduates were honored with membership into the organization.

They were selected based on their scholarship and leadership in campus or community services, social and religious activities, creative and performing arts and/or journalism and mass media. Student inductees must be graduate students or juniors or seniors who rank in the upper 35 percent of their class.

Those honored were:

  • Chance Aucoin, junior
  • Hannah Doran, junior
  • William L. Fontenot, junior
  • Vantonio Tyrone Hall, senior
  • Liliana Rose Harrison, senior
  • Christopher J. Lazarine, graduate student pursuing master’s degree
  • Luiz Queiroz, senior
  • Rami Qumri. junior
  • Gabrielle Raedisch, senior
  • Brandy Richardson, senior
  • Bethany Ann Salter, graduate student pursuing master’s degree
  • Ana Maria Munoz Solis, junior
  • Shawn J. Waltz, graduate student pursuing a doctorate
  • Himasa Wijetunge, junior

Omicron Delta Kappa currently has 48 members at UNO, according to Michelle Butcher, vice president for UNO's chapter.
