UNO St. Claude Gallery Hosts Two Concurrent Exhibitions

The University of New Orleans St. Claude Gallery will host two concurrent exhibitions on the continually pertinent subject of figuration and narrative in painting, said gallery director Kathy Rodriguez.

The gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA, 70117, will hold an opening reception on Saturday, August 9, 2014, from 6-9 p.m. Professor Michael Ananian will give a talk about the exhibits during the reception, between 7 and 8 p.m.

Guest curator and artist Michael Ananian, a fine arts professor at the University of North Carolina – Greensboro, will hold a solo exhibition of his paintings titled "Counterpart" in conjunction with "The Figure and Narrative," a show of paintings he selected to explore themes about visual narratives involving the human form, Rodriguez said. This exhibit includes works by John Hull of Charleston, S.C.; Robert Igoe of Greensboro, N.C.; Margaret McCann of New York City, N.Y.; Nicole McCormick Santiago of Williamsburg, Va., and Tanya Tewell of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
