UNO Music Students Showcase Skills for National Association of Schools of Music

UNO Music Students Will Perform Monday for Visitors from the National Association of Schools of MusicUniversity of New Orleans Music students will showcase their work on Monday afternoon for visitors from the National Association of Schools of Music. The entire campus community is invited.

University of New Orleans Music students will showcase their work on Monday afternoon for visitors from the National Association of Schools of Music.

The fun runs from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center. 

For an encore, the UNO Music Rock Ensemble will perform from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. on Monday evening.

University of New Orleans Music students will showcase their work on Monday afternoon for visitors from the National Association of Schools of Music. The entire campus community is invited.

NASM, founded in 1924, is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges and universities that establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials.

The showcase will present works by artists ranging from Chopin to Woody Shaw. The showcase will also present "Insomnia," a new work by composition student Maggie Adams.

Performers include pianists Ronald Joseph, Andre Bohren and Liliia Oliinyk, trumpeter Catherine (Catie) Rogers, singer Virginia Borne, and Cuban percussionist Alexey Marti with fellow Jazz Studies students Brandon Guimbellot, Luke Hester, and Adam Guthrie.

The program will close out with the UNO Jazz All-Stars, including John Bauer, Miles Berry, Russell Ramirez, J.P. Smith, Robin Sherman, and Peter Varnado.

For an encore, the UNO Music Rock Ensemble will perform at the Sandbar in the Cove on Monday evening.
