Executive Director of University Advancement

The Executive Director of University Advancement reports directly to the President and is responsible for all the University's development and alumni relations programs. The Executive Director of University Advancement works in close collaboration with other University officers, Deans, and faculty to ensure the University fulfills its mission and is successful in accomplishing its strategic goals. The Executive Director will also assume leadership and management of future University capital campaigns in partnership with the President.


The Executive Director of University Advancement will be responsible for management of the Office of University Advancement and its staff, which includes the International Alumni Association and the Office of Development. Additionally, this person will oversee all the UNO Foundation's activities, including its staff, budget, financial assets, and relationships with constituents internal and external to the Foundation and the University of New Orleans.

The Executive Director of University Advancement will be responsible for directing those aspects of the strategic plan that involve the University's alumni and friends, but also by providing input on a wide range of institutional issues. He or she will be charged with increasing the donor base, increasing the number of members of the International Alumni Association, strengthening relationships with donors, and increasing the total dollars raised in support of the University's immediate and long-term needs.


Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred, plus a minimum of ten years of professional management experience, with progressive responsibilities; strong team-building, planning, and problem-solving skills and superior communication skills, both verbal and written; significant experience managing budgets and staff is necessary.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualification and experience.
