Visiting Assistant Professor, Theory/Composition

POSITION SUMMARY: Applications and nominations are being sought for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Music with duties to begin August 19, 2013.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory and composition, and applied composition lessons. Ability to teach film scoring and music technology courses, and to coordinate projects with film area. Partake in Music Department faculty meetings and serve on committees as needed; Participate in advising, auditioning, and recruiting activities; and Provide creative/scholarly input and service to the University as required.  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate in Theory/Composition or equivalent; five (5) years of successful teaching experience at the University level preferred; ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory and composition, and applied composition lessons. Ability to teach film scoring and music technology courses, and to coordinate projects with film area.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
