Position Summary:

The Area Coordinator is a full time, live-in position who has responsibility for developing and administering a comprehensive residence life program in a residence hall housing 740 residents. This position is the primary professional staff member available in the residence facility.

Core Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinating building administration, management and maintenance; Managing crisis situations related to the facility and its occupants: Providing staff supervision and development; Facilitating residence education and community development; Coordinating conference housing; Managing student discipline, hall association advising, summer and conference operations, in addition to other associated departmental and university responsibilities, and Performing additional related duties as assigned.

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; Minimum 1-3 years full-time residence life experience: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with diverse student, staff, faculty, and external constituencies; Experience in a supervisory position; Experience in student mentoring and program development; Excellent organizational skills; Must reside in the residence facility.

Compensation: Up to $30,000 per year with a furnished, private two bedroom apartment within Pontchartrain Halls including all utilities, cable TV, internet and phone fees paid.
