EVENT AND FACILITY COORDINATOR

LINDY C BOGGS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTER

POSITION NUMBER: 431

DEPARTMENT: LAKEFRONT ARENA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with conference planning and logistics, facility bookings, and coordination of activities at the Lindy C Boggs International Conference Center and off campus meetings conducted by the Boggs Center Staff; Attend planning meetings with clients to fulfill short and long term goals; Assist in coordination day to day activities and business in Boggs Conference Center office; Assist with setup of Audio Visual equipment during events at Boggs Conference Center;  Work with Assistant Director on various new social media in use since position last updated;  Assist with set-up and breakdown of rooms (required the ability to move conference furniture); Order all office supplies for in-house office use and supplies for conferences; Any other duties assigned by the Director or Assistant Director. Duties are frequently performed nights, week-ends, and holidays with widely varying hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:   REQUIRED

1. Bachelor's Degree in HRT or related field.

2. 2 years combined experience in facility & meeting planning, customer service and/or guest services.

3. Stamina for long days and willing to work long hours (early, late, weekends) as required by events.

4. Ability to pay attention to detail

5. Excellent communication and computer skills

6. Ability to multi-task while with the public

7. Ability to interact with other university departments

8. Positive "do whatever it takes" attitude

9. Motivated self starter

10. Able to troubleshoot problems with little supervision

QUALIFICATIONS: DESIRED

Experience with conferences/workshops in a university setting.
