POSITION TITLE: Program Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist the Program Director with the administration of the summer study abroad programs in Prague, Czech Republic, Kyoto, Japan, and future programs to be developed, as well as the bilateral International Student Exchange Programs, and with award selection for several institutional and national study abroad awards.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the administration of summer study abroad programs in Prague, Czech Republic, Kyoto, Japan and future programs to be developed, including content, marketing, student recruitment and orientation, accounting, budgeting, travel preparations, overall organization of program and on-site coordination; assisting with the administration of International Student Exchange Programs including marketing, publicity, student recruitment, advising, and placement; and, assisting with award selection for several institutional and national study abroad awards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and experience studying outside of the United States. Experience with student programming in a university setting in an administrative capacity (preferably study abroad or exchange).   Applicant must be able to work under pressure both in the U.S. and abroad, with an ability to handle multiple tasks and competing demands, demonstrate willingness to travel abroad when necessary, and work within a sometimes demanding and flexible work schedule. Excellent organizational skills and relevant marketing experience. Working knowledge of the basic principles of individual and group behavior; understanding good customer service protocol; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and faculty. Comprehensive knowledge of computer software, including that used for web design, database and content management, spreadsheets, desktop publishing and MS Office.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree and knowledge of a foreign language. University administrative experience should include program organization, implementation, marketing and promotion, program evaluation, student and faculty recruitment, budgeting and accounting. Two years’ experience in an international education environment and experience living abroad.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
