POSITION TITLE: Immigration Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Intensive English Language Program,Division of International Education

POSITION SUMMARY: Key immigration role assisting the IELP Program Director in processing applications, admitting students, issuing immigration documents, and processing registrations and fees.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily communication with potential and current students, having thorough knowledge of SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, maintained by the Department of Homeland Security), being versed in immigration advising and non-immigrant visa regulations for F-1 status, issuing and signing immigration forms and related documents (I-20 and SEVIS fee payments) as “Designated School Official”, creating new student files and processing student applications and documents, maintaining student files in accordance with federal regulations for international students, processing and managing student payments, maintaining and updating registration information, marketing support duties including responding to requests for information and tracking incoming applications (walk-in, mail, and electronic), and student and customer service support in the office and during IELP events and activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and English as a Second Language administrative and/or teaching experience. Familiarity with SEVIS and F-1 student immigration regulations. Evidence of administrative and organizational ability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.   Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills. Demonstrated ability to work individually as well as a member of a team. Demonstrated competence in office computer skills. Familiarity with a second language. Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must hold U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status to meet federal requirements for professional practice as “Designated School Official.”

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree and fluency in a second language. Working knowledge of SEVIS and 3 years experience in an ESL setting. Prior marketing and student recruitment experience.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
