Assistant Men's Baseball Coach

DEPARTMENT: Intercollegiate Athletics

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist the head coach with on-the-field coaching during practices and games. Play an active role in team travel and conditioning of student-athletes. Assist with monitoring student-athletes' academic progress. Work closely with the athletic training staff to insure the safety of all student-athletes. Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Assist the head coach with scouting and recruiting of prospective student-athletes.
Assist with promotional and public relations activities as determined by head coach; participate in the planning, promotion and operation of summer camps and clinics.
Represent UNO in a positive manner at the events on or off campus.

Employee shall at all times abide by rules and regulations of the NCAA and Division I with respect to the administration of the University's athletic program. Employee shall at all times conduct themselves in an ethical manner in association with the standards set forth by NCAA Bylaws and University policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of Bachelor's degree; minimum of one (1) season of college and/or professional baseball coaching experience; Thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with rules, regulations and policies of the NCAA and University of New Orleans; Ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationship with student-athletes, administration, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public; Proven administrative, organizational and recruiting skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters' Degree; 1–3 years of experience as a member of Division I baseball coaching staff; previous high school or collegiate-level coaching experience with a successful program.

SALARY: Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
