Child Care Center Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Children’s Center

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Child Care Center Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist the UNO Children's Center Early Childhood Administrator with the day to day operations of the facility to ensure that the center is providing a developmentally appropriate and challenging early care and education environment.
  • Ensure the Children's Center is in compliance with all federal, state, health and safety licensing regulations.
  • Maintain daily records for student attendance and participation in the food program.
  • Provide orientation for new staff and volunteers and ongoing training for staff.
  • Assist as a floating substitute in toddler and preschool age classrooms as needed.
  • Other duties as determined by the Early Childhood Administrator.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree, three years of child care experience, and a thorough understanding of child development are required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to use measured judgment and discretion when interacting with staff and parents. Must be able to take direction and work independently. Knowledge of Louisiana Class A Day Care regulations.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Completed coursework in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Care Administration.

SALARY:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
