POSITION SUMMARY

(1 Position located in Baton Rouge)


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess the needs and interests of current and future patient populations. • Work with DHH management and LaHIPP Department lead in creating, implementing, and marketing a LaHIPP outreach plan. • Maintain relationships with collaborative LaHIPP partners and cultivate new ones. • Assemble LaHIPP literature for marketing. Build and maintain professional relationships with key community partners and patient resources. Become the recognized contact person for community-based organizations. • Seek outreach and community awareness/presentation opportunities. • Develop and implement outreach activities to diverse patient populations to generate interest in LaHIPP services. • Collect and report statistical information for reporting purposes. • Attend and coordinate conferences and meetings • Assist LaHIPP Department with patient enrollment activities. • Provide enrollment assistance and HIPP/Premium Assistance program information over the phone to Medicaid eligible recipients and their family members. • Verify, document and investigate the presence of health care coverage for Medicaid recipients and their families. • Assist in the identification of members that may qualify for the HIPP/Premium Assistance program. • Assemble and review periodic production reports. • Provide customer service to include high volume of phone work answering questions and other inquiries regarding the HIPP/Premium Assistance program. • Perform data entry to include accurate and timely entry of information. • Obtain and/or verify all items related to eligibility and enrollment into the HIPP/Premium Assistance program. • Complete maintenance of active cases during open enrollment and premium review for check processing to assist with maintaining the revenue and program growth. • Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings. • Other duties as required.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree, or 6 years of professional work experience in lieu of degree. • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills. • Great attention to detail and follow up, and verbal/written communications skills. • Ability to connect with others and network to create strong business relationships. • Public speaking and presentation skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced Bachelor’s degree. • Advanced degree. • Medical billing knowledge, health care terminology or similar math related experience. • Administrative support, customer service or call center experience. • Professional experience working with insurance. • Professional experience in health care field or Medicaid program support.


SALARY

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
