POSITION SUMMARY


RESPONSIBILITIES

(40%) Oversee compliance, including: IACUC, IRB, Biosafety, chemical safety, ethics (Responsible Conduct of Research, conflict of interest, etc.) export control, grant and contract compliance; coordinate with Grant Administration Manager and Director of Research and Scholarly Development to minimize administrative and PI burden; discover and implement best practices; Monitor Clearance Forms for department employees; Data Stewardship to ensure file management is adhering to federal, state, university and sponsor retention schedule · (15%) Administration of the Personnel Activity Report (PAR) for certification of time and effort and for the monitoring of cost sharing commitments reported on the PARs System. Which could include: o Initiate PARs based on current personnel action forms o Audit certified PARs to ensure they are in compliance with guidelines as set forth in the federal; guidelines and also to ensure that the proper cost sharing percentages have been documented on the PARs; o Communicate with University departments to ensure that PARs are timely and accurate and answers related questions from departmental personnel; o Create manual PARs for retroactive changes in source of funds not captured by the system and reconciles discrepancy reports for each PAR period showing variances between percentages of actual earnings and the percentages certified on the PAR forms. · (35%) Oversee training for Office of Research, including compliance training (all researchers), grant development training (PIs and grant development specialists), grant writing training (PIs and grant development specialists), grant management training (PIs), budget training (PIs and business managers), new faculty orientation; coordinate with Grant Administration Manager and Director of Research and Scholarly Development to minimize administrative and PI burden; discover and implement best practices · (10%) Other duties assigned as needed by the Assistant Vice President for Research


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of professional experience in research compliance or a closely related field; excellent organizational and communication skills; competence with Microsoft software, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree; 5 or more years of professional experience in research compliance or a closely related field; SharePoint and PeopleSoft experience


SALARY

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
