POSITION SUMMARY

(1 Position located in Baton Rouge)


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise Support staff and act as lead for Pharmacy Support and Drug Rebate departments in assisting with complex program issues and with regards to disseminating pertinent information to staff through verbal and written communication. • Assist staff with complex pharmacy and drug rebate program questions and technical issues. This includes working with the Database Administration group in improving and editing current reports, processes, and programs that are utilized by all Pharmacy staff. • Manage assigned projects and ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. • Review and submit staff’s monthly and quarterly productivity reports, data analyses and letters that are assembled and completed. • Ensure that the Pharmacy Helpdesk Hotline is always covered, assist with problem calls, and provide backup assistance with call overflow. • Act as liaison between the DHH Pharmacy Department and the Support staff. • Develop and implement pharmacy program policy as well as maintain existing program policy. • Monitor statewide operations to determine efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of pharmacy services. • Monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and federal regulations. • Conduct financial analysis and perform special data analysis projects pertaining to the pharmacy program as requested. • Address and respond to legislative audit requests on behalf of Medicaid and the Pharmacy Unit. • Assist in the preparation of the Department’s pharmacy budget request. • Monitor current and future pharmacy programs, including but not limited to Drug Utilization Review, Preferred Drug List, Disease and Outcomes reporting, Provider Audits, and Reimbursement surveys. • Monitor and oversee fiscal intermediary functions as related to the pharmacy program, including but not limited to claims processing, drug file maintenance, clinical drug edits, file transfers and provider relations. • Perform other pharmacy related program activities as requested by the Medicaid Director and/or their designee. • Conduct an annual performance evaluation for each subordinate, setting future goals and strategies. • Conduct recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and professional development of assigned staff. • Other tasks as directed.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree. • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in claims monitoring/processing, data analysis, accounting or auditing. • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience. • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills. • Great attention to detail and follow‐up and verbal/written communications skills.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced degree. • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in claims monitoring/processing, data analysis, accounting or auditing. • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience. • Experience in federal/state health care programs. • Knowledge of relational database structures and SQL language. • Professional experience in health care field or Medicaid program support. • Knowledge of the Louisiana Medicaid Rebate Programs. • CPT, ICD‐9 or ICD-10 coding, and HCPCS knowledge.


SALARY

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
