Graduate School


The Graduate School at the University of New Orleans ensures quality and promotes productivity in graduate education. We strive to serve students and the metropolitan New Orleans region through our 30+ graduate programs. The Assistant Director will provide services to incoming and current students as well as faculty and staff in graduate programs. The position will report to the Director of the Graduate School.


• Assist in the development of recruitment strategy, budgeting, goal-setting and long-term planning for graduate programs • Assist in the revision of the catalog of graduate courses and curricula and assessment of program curricula with market demand • Assist in the degree audit processes for graduate students and participate in the automation of degree audit processes in the student information system • Assist in the development, execution and assessment of new student orientation events • Assist in the development and improvement of communication plans for enrolled students and alumni • Communicate with and be responsive to enrolled students and alumni • Work with Office of Enrollment Services • Work closely with graduate program representatives • Produce reports for graduate program directors • Represent the Graduate School at workshops for students, staff and faculty • Participate in the development and assessment of student surveys and exit interviews • Participate in Commencement-related events • Assist in the development and assessment of professional development for graduate students • Perform additional duties as assigned


• Bachelor's degree • 2-4 years of experience in higher education administration • Excellent customer service. Ability to work with students, staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines • Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with standard office software, especially Excel. • Effective at problem-solving.


• Master's degree • 5-8 years of experience in higher education administration • Experience in implementing degree audit. • Experience in training faculty.


low to mid $40s, commensurate with experience
