Assistant Athletic Director for Development





The Assistant AD for Development will be responsible for managing all fundraising and development initiatives for the University of New Orleans Department of Athletics. The Assistant AD for Development will report to the Director of Athletics and lead the advancement and promotion of The Privateer Club, the annual fund for UNO Athletics, as well as fundraising efforts for capital projects and endowments. The Assistant AD for Development will cultivate positive relationships with alumni, fans and friends of the program while soliciting private and corporate donors for through progressive annual, major gift and capital fundraising strategies. The Assistant AD for Development will serve as a liaison with the UNO Foundation (UNOF) and work closely with the UNOF to identify prospective donors for Athletics and provide timely and detailed reporting related to Athletics development efforts. Furthermore, the Assistant AD for Development will organize special events intended to steward donors, identify prospective donors and generate supplemental funding for Athletics. The Assistant AD for Development will represent UNO in a positive manner and uphold the standards of honesty and integrity expected of all University employees. The Assistant AD for Development shall abide by and operate under the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Southland Conference and the policies and procedures of the University of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. The Assistant AD for Development will be expected to attend home athletics contests. The Assistant AD for Development should anticipate local, single day and extended travel Assistantd with development efforts.


Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years professional experience in management, outside sales, non-profit fundraising or in an external capacity for a college athletics program or professional sports organization. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.


Master’s degree and a minimum of 4 years experience in development division of an NCAA Division I athletics department. Demonstrated success in annual, major gift, and capital project fundraising. Proven experience with use of social media platforms within athletics development strategies.


Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
