Medicaid Technical Services Contract


1 Position located in Baton Rouge


• Serves as a subject matter expert for the LaCHIP Affordable Plan (LAP) and FOA Programs. • Conducts in-depth reviews of eligibility staff determinations to ensure the accuracy of eligibility decisions and appropriate premium calculations have been made for this program. • Ensures all appropriate notices are generated and member appeal rights are protected. • Serves as the primary point of contact for LAP and FOA inquiries received by members, eligibility workers, and external entities. • Monitors and ensures the reliability and accuracy of the Buy-In System as it interfaces with the Medicaid Eligibility Data System (MEDS), Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) maintained by the Fiscal Intermediary, and CMS. • Submits additions and deletions to the Buy-In file and notifies CMS of any changes to the individual’s Buy-In status through a monthly electronic data exchange. • Serves as back up to the program manager, as needed. • Assists LDH upper management with special projects and/or other duties, as assigned. • Other tasks, as directed.


• Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years’ professional work experience in lieu of degree. • Minimum 1 year Medicaid Eligibility C and D-related policy and procedural experience. • Minimum 1 year of experience with MMIS mainframe system and MEDS system. • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills. • Great attention to detail and follow up. • Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities. • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.


• Advanced degree. • Minimum 2 years Medicaid Eligibility C and D-related policy and procedural experience. • Minimum 2 years of experience with MMIS mainframe system and MEDS system. • Experience in healthcare billing. • CPT, ICD-9 or ICD­10 coding and HCPCS knowledge.


Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
