      • ellisChristina Indovina | IELP Program Director

        She received her B.A. in Hispanic Language and Literature from the University of Pittsburgh and her M.A. in TESOL/Applied Linguistics from University of Illinois-Chicago. As an undergraduate , she studied abroad in Mexico and performed research in Chile. She has worked in a variety of ESL programs, including adult education ESL programs, the Loyola Intensive English Program in New Orleans, Truman Community College in Chicago, and the United Neighborhood Organization in Chicago.

      • ellisLaTesha Gonzales | Assistant Director | Instructor

        She earned her B.A. in Spanish from Southeastern Louisiana University, and M.A. in TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, CA, in 2008. She is an active member of EnglishUSA, NAFSA, TESOL, and LaTESOL. Her interests include curriculum development and teacher training. LaTesha resides in New Orleans with her husband and two-year old son, Gabriel. She is a classically trained ballerina and enjoys learning about other cultures and their ways of life.

      • ellisColeen Maidlow

        Coleen Maidlow is a Canadian transplant who moved to Louisiana as an F-1 student. In Ruston, she received a B.A. in English and Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. In 2010, she moved to New Orleans to pursue her M.A. in English from the University of New Orleans. Along the way, she assisted in research on lie detection, tutored students in writing centers, and taught freshman composition. She started at IELP in 2013 as a teacher, but now works in the office as the Immigration Coordinator. Outside of work Coleen teaches and studies yoga and enjoys teaching her cats tricks.

      • ellisNina Balan

        Born and raised in Moldova, Nina Balan moved to Italy in 2008 to pursue her B.A. in Languages and Literature at University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Her exploring spirit and love for different cultures brought her to New Orleans in May 2013, where she attended Level 6 of the IELP. Loving the city and cultural diversity of New Orleans, Nina decided to follow her dream and complete a M.S. in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration at UNO. She is currently the Professional Assistant for IELP. Her biggest hobby is fitness and anything related to sports and outside activities.
