Prospective Students

About the Application Process

Students can be admitted to the Graduate School at the University of New Orleans on either a degree-seeking or non-degree basis.

  • Non-degree seeking students must also submit an official transcript from the institution that awarded their baccalaureate degree.
  • Degree-seeking students must also submit official transcripts from each institution attended & the relevant test score (GRE* or GMAT) to the Office of Admissions. To be considered for admission to a graduate degree program all applicants must meet the University minimum requirements for admission of a 2.5 undergraduate GPA and 3.0 graduate GPA.

*the GRE Institution code for UNO is 6379

Many degree programs will also require additional material (such as letters of recommendation, statement of purpose or a resume) to be forwarded to the graduate coordinator and may have admission deadlines independent of those established by the University. Prospective students are encouraged to contact the graduate coordinator for more information. An alphabetical list of degree programs, the graduate coordinators and the respective admission requirements is available here.
