Financial Resources

  • Office of Financial Aid - This office assists all students at UNO in obtaining assistance for the costs incurred by higher education. The primary sources of assistance available are Federal or State aid.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION EFFECTIVE 7/1/12 - there will no longer be Subsidized Loans offered to Graduate and Professional level students.  Graduate students will only be offered Unsubsidized loans with an interest rate of 6.8 percent, which will begin accruing upon disbursal of the loan.

  • Graduate Assistantships - Students enrolled in a graduate degree program may be hired to work either in academic departments or administrative units as Teaching, Research or Service assistants. Graduate assistants receive a stipend, a tuition exemption for each semester in which they are employed, and a waiver of the non-resident fee.

There is no central listing of openings. Students interested in obtaining an assistantship are encouraged to contact their degree program.

 

  • Scholarships & Fellowships - The Graduate School distributes merit-based awards for students entering graduate degree programs. Students should contact their degree program to initiate their application. March 15 is the priority deadline for students entering programs in the Fall semester.


 

  • Cost of Attendance - The Bursar's office posts the cost of tuition, non-resident fees and miscellaneous fees for each semester.


  • Office of Career Development - The Office of Career Development assists currently enrolled students and university alumni with the development of clear career objectives and career-related skills, awareness of career options, and mastery of the job search process.
