Counseling Services professional staff are experienced in the assessment and treatment of mental health concerns common among university students. Graduate students from regional universities enrolled in various behavioral disciplines also provide services through Counseling Services under the supervision of the licensed professional staff.

Rosamond Myers, PhD
Assistant Director, Coordinator of Clinical Training

Rosamond Myers, Ph.D. (University of Southern Mississippi) oversees the training program for the masters level internship program offered by Counseling Services.  Earlier in her professional life, Dr. Myers worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, but since 1991 has chosen to devote her career to working with college students in university counseling center settings.  As a clinician, Dr. Myers is a generalist and works with a wide variety of student concerns. This is an ideal match for her interests as she enjoys assisting students from various walks of life address and successfully meet developmental, academic, and personal life challenges.  Additionally, Dr Myers enjoys her supervisory role with young professionals in training, and working with them to develop their professional competencies and identities. She has supervised students at the masters, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels in various mental health fields.

Nina Stewart, MS, NCC, PLPC
Counselor and Coordinator of Outreach

Nina Stewart earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Clinical Mental Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans and is registered as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) with the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners. As a mental health clinician, Ms. Stewart has worked in community mental health, outreach, the judicial system and rehabilitation. Ms. Stewart is currently pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor under the supervision of Sarah Keith, MS, LPC-S. At Counseling Services, Ms. Stewart's clinical practice is supervised by Rosamond Myers, PhD, Assistant Director of Counseling Services.


Melissa Kunimatsu, Ph.D
Post-Doctoral Counselor

Melissa Kunimatsu received her doctorate in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of New Orleans in 2013. She has previous clinical experience in community mental health, family therapy, juvenile justice, and psychometric assessment. Dr. Kunimatsu is currently pursuing licensure as a Developmental Psychologist under the supervision of Rosamond Myers, PhD, Assistant Director of Counseling Services.

Sage Bierster is a Master of Social Work candidate at Tulane University School of Social Work with an anticipated graduation date of December 2016. Ms. Bierster is supervised by Rosamond Myers, PhD, Assistant Director of Counseling Services.
