Application Procedures

Ph.D in Applied Psychology

Please insure that you send the specified material to the right place. These include 3 separate components of the application.

Materials to be submitted to the Office of Admissions

  • Graduate School Application Form
    The application form can be filled out and submitted online. Prospective students must register with a password and username.
  • Official Transcripts
    Official transcripts Include transcripts from every university you have attended. All originial transcript must be sent to the UNO Office of Admissions.
  • Application Fee
    There is a $20 non-refundable UNO application fee all applicants must pay upon completing the UNO Online Application.

  • Official Test Scores
    Graduation Record Examination (GRE) Scores The Graduate School requires recent (not over 5 years old) scores on the Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical sections of the GRE. Scores on the Advanced GRE in psychology are not required. Several weeks should be allowed for the GRE scores to reach UNO as delays of up to six weeks have been known to occur.
  • International Applicants
    International applicants must submit official scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Applicant must meet a minimum total score of 500 (paper-based) or 173 (computer-based). At the first semester registration, international students with TOEFL scores below 650 (280 computer-based) are required to take the English as a Second Language (ESL) test before they register.

  • Departmental Application Form
    You can type your responses to this form in adobe reader, but it will not save what you typed. Be sure to print before you save.
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
    Letters should be from college or university teachers or other professionals (e.g., supervisors in a psychological setting) who are familiar with your academic work or applied service. Additional letters from persons familiar with your interests may be submitted, but are not required. Copies of the recommendation form are attached to the Department Application Form and should be forwarded to endorsers, and then mailed directly to the graduate coordinator.
