Selection Process

The deadline for applications is April 30, 2014.

To be eligible for this program, applicants should meet the following criteria:
  1. Candidates must be a minority student, i.e. a Native American, African American, Spanish Speaking American, or other underrepresented groups.
  2. Candidates must have completed 10th grade. Graduating seniors are also eligible.
  3. Candidates must be recommended by your high school counselor, science teacher, or principal.
  4. Complete the essay.
  5. Send in or fax both the Student Application Form and the Essay.
  6. Print out Parental Consent/Teacher/Counselor Form and have your parents sign it.
  7. All materials must be submitted to their teacher or counselor to send. The teacher or counselor will also need to provide us with a written recommendation.
  8. The teacher or counselor will then submit all materials to Dinah Maygarden.

Candidates will then be selected from the applicants. These candidates will go through interviews before the final participant selections are made.
