Internships

The Department of Computer Science coordinates with local IT industries to offer paid internships for our students. Internships are designed to provide practical hands-on workplace experience in software development. Internships are the best way for students to garner valuable work experience while completing their bachelor or graduate degree.

GE Software Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SWEAP)

SWEAP is a technical apprenticeship program at GE Capital where apprentices learn by doing – gaining hands-on experience by working on high-impact, real-world challenging projects alongside some of the brightest technical mentors in the industry.

Course Credit for Internships

Internship students have the opportunity to enroll in CSCI 3097: Computer Science Internship. CSCI 3097 may be used for Computer Science elective credit, and can be taken multiple times for a maximum of 6 credit hours.  Students who enroll in this course are expected to work on real-world projects and meet actual deadlines.

Industry Partners

Some of our current and past internship partners are listed below as an example of the internship opportunities available to students. Available opportunities vary each semester.
