Along with being president, I am the vice president of the Eta Eta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. I spend my free time volunteering with St. Anna’s Clinic, a non-profit health care clinic and helping various elementary cheerleading teams across the New Orleans area. I participate in UNO’s service coalition, take photos for the Driftwood, and enjoy volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank. AED is a major priority of mine and I love spending time reaching out to the community, giving time, spreading knowledge, and helping fellow members in their ambitions of success in health care” - Terry Shields

Treasurer- Uyen Ha

“Hello everyone! My name is Uyen Ha. I am a senior with Biology major and concentration in pre-dental. I am an undergrad TA for Bios 1081, and currently working at LSU Anesthesia Department as a secretary. Being an active member of AED since 2014 and honored to become a national member in spring 2017, this gives me a lot of opportunities to see the growth of AED. I love being an active person, and the only way to do it is to join active groups. AED provides a lot of medical-related information, speakers, and events, to help and guide students who are interesting in the medical field. On the weekend, I usually spend my free time to volunteer at Animal Rescue New Orleans. As for the future career, I want to become an Orthodontist” - Uyen Ha

I would recommend joining AED to anyone who is passionate about going into the medical field” - Jacob Michalik
