    In what has become a much-loved tradition, UNO Jazz Studies Professor Emeritus Ellis Marsalis launches the 2016-17 Jazz at the Sandbar series on October 5 at 7 pm in the Sandbar at the Cove on the UNO campus. The iconic educator and premier modern jazz pianist will join UNO Jazz Studies students on the bandstand for two sets. Together with his sons Wynton, Branford, Delfeayo and Jason, the Marsalis clan is often referred to as “The First Family of Jazz,” and were named Jazz Masters by the National Endowment for the Arts in 2011.

All admission proceeds go to the George Brumat Memorial Scholarship Fund.
