A native of New Orleans, Kelvin is a graduate of NOCCA, and the University of New Orleans. Additionally, Kelvin has studied at Berklee College of Music and Southern University. Highly sought as a studio instructor, Kelvin has been on the adjunct faculty at UNO since 1991, and has taught numerous students from NOCCA and surrounding high schools. Kelvin taught in the St. Charles Parish School System for many years and is currently the Dean of Arts at KIPP: McDonogh 15 Middle School. His most recent accomplishment includes winning the Mr. Holland’s Opus Teaching Award.

Kelvin’s performance experiences range from playing a Concerto with the New Orleans Philharmonic, to playing jazz clubs and festivals. In addition to recording engagements, Kelvin can be seen with the orchestra in the movie “Ray”, and also in the movie “Midnight Bayou.”
