Dr. Tammy Lewis Wilborn, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC is a Visiting Professor of Counseling in the Department of Educational Leadership, Counseling, and Foundations. She holds a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a master's in Counseling from Loyola University of New Orleans. Dr. Wilborn has 15+ years experience as a licensed professional counselor, educator, clinical supervisor/consultant, and trainer. She has clinical experience in intensive outpatient, in-home, residential, foster care, community agency, college counseling, and private practice. Dr. Wilborn has extensive experience providing individual, group, and family counseling to children, adolescents, and adults with a range of therapeutic issues. She also has specialized training to train, implement, and supervise the practice of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma as well as training to provide military-informed counseling to veterans and their families. Her research interests include qualitative research methodology, multicultural counseling competency, social justice advocacy, and supervision. Dr. Wilborn regularly presents and provides workshops at national, regional, state, and local conferences and is an active member of national and state professional counseling associations.
