VITA

Background: Professor Elyria Kemp joined UNO in 2012. She has taught at Texas State University, the University of Arkansas and Dillard University. Dr. Kemp received her PhD from the University of Arkansas and holds an MBA from the University of New Orleans and a BS in Music Business from Bradley University.

Current Research Interests: Dr. Kemp conducts research in the areas of social marketing and consumer welfare (with respect to health and nutrition), emotions and consumer behavior, and hedonic consumption.

She has presented research at numerous conferences, including Marketing & Public Policy, the American Marketing Association, the Academy of Marketing Science and the Association for Consumer Research. 

Professional Background: Dr. Kemp’s professional experience lies in the arts and entertainment industry. Before entering academia, she worked for several organizations, including the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Madame Walker Theatre Center and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

Teaching: Professor Kemp teaches undergraduate, graduate and executive level marketing courses, including Marketing Strategy, Strategic Marketing Management and Health Care Marketing. Dr. Kemp has also taught Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Global Marketing and Marketing Management.
