VITA

Background

Professor Elyria Kemp joined UNO in 2012. She has taught at Texas State University, the University of Arkansas and Dillard University. Dr. Kemp received her PhD from the University of Arkansas and holds an MBA from the University of New Orleans and a BS in Music Business from Bradley University.

Dr. Kemp’s professional experience lies in the arts and entertainment industry. Before entering academia, she worked for several organizations, including the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Madame Walker Theatre Center and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

She was named the "2013 Professor of the Year" in the Executive Masters of Science Health Care Management program.

Research Interests:
Dr. Kemp conducts research in the areas of emotions and hedonic consumption as well as social marketing and consumer welfare (with respect to health and nutrition).
