Myles Hassell has been an instructor in the Management Department since the spring of 1991. Prior to that time, he had earned a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of New Orleans (1978) and a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans (1990). In addition, he had worked for the Louisiana Division of Family Services; sold business machines and office systems, representing manufacturers such as Pitney Bowes, Canon, and Sharp; and taught business and technical writing for the UNO English Department.

As a member of the Department of Management, Mr. Hassell has taught classes in the following areas: Application Software for Business, Introduction to Management and Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Business Communication, Computer-Based Multimedia Applications for Business, and Survey of Management Topics. However, his specialty has been teaching Business Communication to undergraduate, pre-MBA, and Executive Education students.

Since 1994, Mr. Hassell has also been active as an author of support materials for business textbooks (e.g., PowerPoint slides, manuals for students and instructors, and test banks) for a number of publishers, such as Allyn and Bacon, Richard D. Irwin, Inc., and Prentice Hall. He has also delivered presentations on communication in the workplace at the Federal Women’s Appreciation Awards and Training Program, and for the American Society of Women Accountants.
