Educational Background:
Ph.D., Texas Tech University (1992)

Joined UNO faculty in 1991. Areas of specialization are Accounting Information Systems, which he teaches at both the Graduate and Undergraduate levels, and Oil and Gas Accounting. Prior to obtaining his Ph.D., Dr. Young worked for eleven years, with experience in public accounting – Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now KPMG) – and industry – Mobil Oil Corp.; Gulf Oil, Inc.; and Chevron USA, Inc. Publications have appeared in numerous journals, including  The Journal of Information SystemsAdvances in Accounting Information Systems, The CPA Journal, Jurimetrics: Journal of Law, Science and TechnologyInternational Journal of Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance, and ManagementOil & Gas Tax Quarterly, and Controllers Quarterly. Dr. Young has presented papers at the American Accounting Association annual meeting, the Southwest Federation of Administrative Disciplines annual meeting, and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences annual meeting. At the 2004 American Accounting Association Annual Meeting, the Information Systems Section honored Dr. Young with the Section’s 2004 Outstanding Service Award.
