Coastal Engineering and Sciences Certificate Program

The University of New Orleans (UNO) will be offering two new graduate level certificates through the Coastal Engineering And Sciences (CEAS) certificate program starting in Spring 2015. The two certificates are Graduate Coastal Engineering Certificate and Graduate Coastal Sciences Certificate.


Each certificate can be earned after successful completion of four graduate level courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the area of coastal engineering and sciences. Courses will be offered in dual format (online and classroom) over a two-year period during the Spring and Fall semesters. If desired, the students can also use these courses towards their M.S. in Engineering program.

Coast Engineering ProgramGraduate Certificate in Coastal Engineering
The certification in coastal engineering will cover a variety of areas including coastal processes, sediment transport and dredging, ocean and coastal engineering, and coastal and hydraulic structures.

Coastal Sciences ProgramGraduate Certificate in Coastal Sciences
The certification in coastal sciences will not only cover coastal processes and sediment transport and dredging but also coastal geography, coastal restoration and management.
