The UNO Lakefront Arena earned the second place spot in the 2016 Venues Today Top Stops list for the Deep South. The UNO Lakefront Arena, which has a 10,000-seat capacity, grossed $4,130,453 during the March 1, 2015 to Feb. 29, 2016, calendar year. The ranking was based on concert and event grosses for the calendar year.

The UNO Lakefront Arena celebrates 33 years of operation this November. Since opening its doors in November of 1983, the Arena has been the destination for live entertainment – bringing in more than 12 million patrons to the city of New Orleans for world-class concerts, family and comedy shows, commencement ceremonies, athletic events and thousands of other events in partnership with promoters such as Live Nation, AEG, Beaver Productions, FELD Entertainment, VEE Corporation and North American Entertainment.

According to UNO Lakefront Arena General Manager Marco Perez, “We’re grateful and proud of our 30+ years in the industry. We’ve had the pleasure to work with the best in the business both from the talent and promoter side. We are looking forward to celebrating our 33rd year in operation this November and pleased to continue to bring world-class entertainment to New Orleans.”

The UNO Lakefront Arena has recently added a new VIP lounge (Spotlights), upgraded food services and hosted three sold out shows in a week - the kick-off of the U.S. tour for The Cure’s two New Orleans shows May 10-11 as well as Fantasia and Anthony Hamilton on May 14.

“Venues in the Deep South considered as Top Stops for touring shows and events can be excused for having just a little extra pride in the designation. In a region already known for Southern hospitality, these are the places that add an extra scoop of down-home friendliness for the maximum enjoyment of both artists and fans,” according to Venues Today’s R.V. Baugus.
