UNO-St. Claude Gallery April Exhibit Features Two Master of Fine Arts Thesis Projects

Colannino Fragment 2

The UNO-St. Claude Gallery will present two exhibitions concurrently in the month of April. Both are Master of Fine Arts thesis projects comprised of sculpture, installation, print, painting and drawing.

“It’s Always Better with a Good DM” by David Colannino is described as a multimedia journey through narrative and cartographical juvenile fantasy. Lizzie Agnes Derby’s show, “Happy Trails,” is a selection of her work that “uses the attractive and repulsive qualities of hair to explore identity and sexuality through camp and an obsession with material,” according to the artist.

The gallery, located at 2429 St. Claude Ave., will host an opening reception on Saturday, April 9 from 6-9 p.m. The exhibition will run from April 9 – May 8, 2016.  Regular gallery hours are Saturday-Sunday, 12-5 p.m.
