Job Fair Brings Fortune 500 Companies to UNO Students

The University of New Orleans Office of Career Services hosted a job fair that brought 86 employers—many of them representing Fortune 500 companies—to the Sen. Theodore M. “Ted” Hickey Ballroom of the University Center on March 10 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Alongside companies with a national and international presence such as State Farm and Marriott International were locally owned businesses like the sweet shop Sucré and Boh Brothers Construction.

Employers participating in the job fair represented industries ranging from hospitality, retail and food service to insurance, real estate, financial services, nonprofits, utilities and government agencies. According to Celyn Boykin, director of UNO’s Office of Career Services, 540 students attended the job fair and many of them were granted same-day interviews. Several students have already completed the hiring process with their new employers, she added.

The next Career Services job fair will be in September. Contact Career Services for more information about job fairs and other opportunities to connect with potential employers.
