Area marketing and advertising leaders visit the University of New Orleans next week for Marketing Week, an annual event that provides students up-close access to the professionals who know the most about how to get a message out.
Now in its fourth year, UNO Marketing Week is designed to help interested students, particularly marketing majors, polish their skills as they prepare for careers in marketing.
“Students have the opportunity to network, hear about best practices, and receive career advice from these Marketing experts,” said Pamela Kennett-Hensel, chair of the Department of Management and Marketing.
This year’s keynote speaker is Kimberly Cadena, social media and content strategy director for Peter Mayer Advertising.
Cadena, who joined Peter Mayer in 2013, has 15 years of experience determining the strategic expansion of client campaigns into the digital space across industries that include telemarketing, consumer packaged goods, travel and tourism, food and beverage, political and nonprofits. Before joining Peter Mayer, Cadena led digital marketing and content strategy for Bono’s ONE Campaign and Brad Pitt’s Make it Right Foundation. She has also She worked with members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to establish digital communications and content strategies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Colorado.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to hear her address Tuesday, Oct. 20 during a special 12:30 p.m. lunch in Kirschman Hall.
Cadena is one of 18 professionals scheduled to speak during the annual event that will feature executives from Yelp, House of Blues, Story Block Media, Smoothie King, Schulkens Communications, Good Work Marketing and more.
