Ron Young

Ronald M. Young, Ph.D., has been a member of the Accounting faculty at UNO since August, 1991. He holds the Energy Accounting & Tax Professorship. Dr. Young received his doctorate from Texas Tech University in 1992. His primary emphasis in research and teaching has been in the area of accounting information systems. He has also taught and performed research in oil and gas accounting and in the areas of financial accounting, managerial accounting, and information technology auditing. He has published 11 refereed journal articles and 18 other publications, including refereed abstracts and newsletter articles. Dr. Young has made many presentations at both academic and professional meetings, including national and regional meetings for the American Accounting Association, the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences National Meeting, the Council of Petroleum Accountant Societies, and the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants. In 2004, he received an Outstanding Service Award from the Information Systems Section of the American Accounting Association.
