Application for Admission

Important Information

Applicants must register and create a username and password. If you are returning to UNO or a former/current UNO employee, please enter your privateer ID number (UNO student ID number). For each application you submit, you will have to create a new username and password.

To successfully use all features of online application form, you must accept pop-up windows from application website.

Graduate Applicants

Undergraduate Applicants

Please have the following information available:
  • Personal information such as your Social Security Number, emergency contact, and address history.
  • For non-US citizens, know your immigrant status (e.g., refugee, student, temporary worker) and the type of visa you hold (e.g., F1, H1, J2, etc.).
  • Names of each and every college/university that you have attended and the dates of attendance.
  • Payment information ($20 application fee).
  • Grades received for prior coursework.
  • Valid Test Scores: Graduate Record Examination (GRE), institution code 6379, or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores if required by your program, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or (International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores if your education was completed outside of the U.S. or other recognized English-speaking country such as Australia, Belize, Canada, Jamaica and the U.K.
  • If your program requires a statement of purpose, a resume/CV,  a list of prior publications/presentations or a writing sample you will be prompted to upload these items.
  • The names, titles, and email addresses of your potential recommendation providers if recommendations are required by your program. View Program Requirements
University Minimum GPA Requirement
  • 2.5 undergraduate GPA
  • 3.0 graduate GPA

Complete UNO Application 

Please have the following information available:

  • Personal information such as your Social Security Number, emergency contact, and address history.
  • For non-US citizens, know your immigrant status (e.g., refugee, student, temporary worker) and the type of visa you hold (e.g., F1, H1, J2, etc.).
  • If you are a dependent applicant, your parents' or legal guardians' residency information.
  • Names of each and every high school and/or college/university that you have attended and the dates of attendance.
  • Payment information ($20 application fee).

There are two options to submit your online application for admission.


Complete UNO Application

  • A high school student applying for dual enrollment.
  • A first time freshman.
  • Transferring from another institution.
  • Returning to UNO.
  • An international applicant.
  • Applying for any non-degree or special program such as Study Abroad, National/International Exchange, or Organizational Leadership.

Complete the National Common Application

Please use this application method if you are one of the following. Please also note that this is a third party application designed to submit applications in multiple schools in the United States of America.

  • A first time freshman.
  • Transferring from another institution.
  • An international applicant.

After you complete the online application you will need to have the following items sent to the University of New Orleans:

Official Test Scores

Official test scores should be sent to the University of New Orleans. Only IELTS scores may be sent via mail. All other scores (ACT, SAT, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL) should be reported electronically by the testing agency.

Submit Official Transcripts

Submit official transcripts from each institution that you have attended. International students may also need to submit certified English translations and evaluations of your transcripts.

Submit Application Fee

If you did not provide payment information when you submitted the online applications or have been contacted by our staff regarding an unsuccessful attempt to process your application fee, you can re-submit the payment information only.
